Course Description
This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of people looking after babies and children in the home. With potential hazards in every home, and one million children under the age of 18 being taken to A & E every year due to an accident in the home, the skills learnt on this course may prove to be extremely valuable.
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at anyone who looks after babies or children in a home environment. These people might be parents, grandparents or any other family member or friend who has the responsibility of caring for a child.
What skills will they learn?
- Dealing with unconsciousness
- Adult, baby and child resuscitation
- Dealing with choking
- Dealing with poisoning
- Treating bleeding
- Treating burns and scalds
- Dealing with fractures
- Recognition and treatment of head injuries
How long will the course last?
This course runs over 4 hours. It is normally split into 2 two hour evening sessions, however, if you would like the course to be run during the day or over one evening, please contact us for more details about these options.
Is there an assessment?
Candidates are continually assessed but there is no formal assessment, you will be pleased to hear.
Where is the venue?
We can either come to train at a venue of your choice or you can come to us.
